The silicon computing development team is seeking passionate, driven, and intellectually curious computer/electrical engineers to deliver premium-quality designs once considered impossible. Our team is involved in numerous projects within Microsoft developing custom silicon for a diverse set of systems ranging from traditional computing solutions to artificial intelligence and augmented reality. We are responsible for delivering cutting-edge, custom CPU and SoC designs that can perform complex and high-performance functions in an extremely efficient manner.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
- BS or MS in ElectricalEngineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree
- 8+ years of experience working on pre- or post-silicon functional verification and validation of computing elements such as CPUs, GPUs, caches or similarly complex verification environments usingSystemVerilogorC++
- Strong background and understanding of computer architecture, specifically out-of-order instruction execution, pipelining, and data caching
- Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills and ability to contribute to diverse and inclusive teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years load-store or L2 cache experience
- In depth knowledge of verification principles, testbenches, stimulus generation,SystemVerilog, UVM/OVM, and coverage
- Extensive experience debugging RTL and SV using waveform viewers and HW/SW debuggers within a simulationenvironment
- Assembly programming experience in industry standard ISAs
- Scripting proficiency with Python or Perl
- Architectural knowledge including cache coherency protocols and multi-processor programming

Description(岗位职责)
In this role, you will:
- Own and lead functional verification of the load-store unit in a fully custom CPU design
- Learn the architecture and microarchitecture, working closely with the design lead and microarchitect
- Define and document verification test plans that you and your team will execute to
- Develop vertically reusable unit testbenches in SystemVerilog and UVM
- Run and debug simulations at multiple levels of abstraction to uncover bugs and meet testplan goals
- Craft random stimulus (assembly- and sequence-based), leveraging coverage-driven feedback to continually iterate and improve quality
- Work with performance verification lead to validate microbenchmark correlation and specific performance targets
- Drive verification efficiency by contributing to methodologies and tools
- Interact with adjacent teams to define common verification strategies, testplans, and horizontally reusable verification collateral
- Mentor and coach team members and summer interns
