Meta AR/VR Job | Wet Process Engineer, Integrated Waveguide Technology

Process Engineers work to develop processes, pilot-scale tools, and prototypes for optical and display components in our AR and Smart glasses using semiconductor and optical fabrication techniques.
BS or Masters in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science, physics or similar fields, experience in semiconductor industry.
3+ years of direct experience in process development and characterization of wet clean and etch processes technology related to optical component or semiconductor fabrication applications.
Experience and knowledge in SPC methods, variation analysis, and data-analysis techniques.
Experience using structured problem-solving framework for root cause analysis, familiar with RCA tools and facilitating structured problem-solving efforts.
Interpersonal communication and cross-functional partnership experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
Organizational skills and demonstrated experience to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and experience to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs and deadlines.
Own the development and optimization of new and existing wet clean and wet etch processes to meet build specifications in support of near-eye optical components on pilot scale tools.
Serve as the tool owner and operational expert, develop Standard-Operation-Procedure documentation, safety protocols, and train operations team.
Develop specification documents, engage with suppliers, coordinate installation, and drive qualification of new tools.
Support and execute strategic sector projects involving definition and selection of new processing approaches, tooling, and manufacturability improvements.
Supports integration and researchers cross functionally to understand wet cleans and etch process capabilities in accordance with approved EHS guidelines, process flow, appropriate cleaning chemistries, and process module issues/challenges.
Implement statistical control methods and own performance improvement Pareto within sector.
Identify key process metrics and understand relationships between sector metrics and component performance.
Develop design of experiments (DOE) to quantify process window and characterize process parameter responses.
Partner with Metrology team to gather complementary process characterization and defectivity measurements for qualifying new or improved processes.
Build collaborative relationships between internal research, engineering, EHS, and external partners.
Communicate effectively with both management, peers, and external partners.
1+ years direct experience with wet cleans and surface metrology processes in fabricating near-eye optical elements.
2+ years of experience in an industrial Research and Development environment developing scalable processes with knowledge of nanofabrication processes including deposition, etch, lithography, and metrology.
Advanced knowledge of Design-of-Experiments, PFMEA, SPC, and root cause analysis tools.
