Summary(岗位介绍)
Reality Labs Research is looking for an intern with expertise in haptic hardware systems, haptic perception and tools to help us explore use cases in learning, coadaptation and biofeedback applicable to augmented and virtual worlds. In particular, we are seeking candidates who have experience in building and demonstrating haptic HW/SW systems, along with experience in psychophysical study design and/ or machine learning methods to make highly effective haptic feedback technologies.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, Robotics, or similar.
2+ years experience on haptic systems.
Proficiency in at least one of: Python, C/C++, Matlab, or equivalent.
Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Description(岗位职责)
Create a concrete research plan for your own topic during the internship, the plan needs to synthesize the input from the team, the potential impact, and your own perspective and expertise.
Formulate research questions, set up HW/SW systems and design experiments.
Collaborate with other researchers, designers, and engineers to develop, prototype, test and iterate the solutions.
Analyze and model data, and create a demonstration of the system.
Produce publishable research that appears in top-tier journals or at leading international conferences.
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
Expertise with psychophysical research methods and computational modeling.
Proficiency VR and game engines like Unity.
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences haptics and HCI such as CHI, UIST, Haptics, Siggraph, or similar.
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
