Reality Labs has a mission to build the AR/VR ecosystem that helps people feel connected, anytime, anywhere. The Motion Sensing team within Reality Labs helps to fulfill that mission by ensuring that our devices have an accurate estimate of their orientation and position in space. Magnetic sensors play a critical role in determining the orientation of our products. We are looking for interns who have a deep understanding of magnetic materials, magnetic sensing modalities, as well as finite element analysis (FEA) tools to support the Motion Sensors team in their effort to continuously improve motion tracking in the AR and VR landscapes of the future.
Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
Knowledge and experience in magnetic materials, electromagnetic fields, and or magnetometer sensing modalities.
1-2 years experience in electromagnetic simulation tools such as Ansys, Comsol, or equivalent.
Experience with software development in Matlab, Python, or equivalent.
Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Description(岗位职责)
In this role, you will be working with the Motion Sensing and cross functional teams to develop tools to help drive product design decisions.
You will be responsible for utilizing FEA tools to simulate magnetic interactions between components.
Develop data analysis and visualization tools to extract important information from simulation results.
Use FEA to research new methods for improving sensor performance.
Validation of simulation results through lab testing.
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
Strong understanding of magnetic materials, electromagnetic fields, and magnetic sensing modalities shown through publications or projects.
2+ years of software development in Matlab, Python, or equivalent.
Experience with scripting to automate FEA simulations.
Experience working with magnetic testing equipment.
Base level experience utilizing ECAD (PCB Design) tools and MCAD (Mechanical Design) tools.
Familiarity with Linux, Unix, and/or Android system software
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
