AR displays are inherently 3D and computational; the Display & Optics team in Reality Labs is looking for a Computational Display Engineer to help bring our AR devices to life and display beautiful pictures. The ideal candidate would have a background in image processing, optics, metrology & calibration for displays and cameras, 3D math for computer vision and graphics, and algorithm development. We recognize that it is rare to find all of these skills in one person, so candidates with depth in one area and some familiarity with others are encouraged to apply.


Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Optics or a related field

3+ years of work experience in image processing and computer vision or a related field

Proficiency with either MATLAB/Python or C/C++


Work directly with current and next-generation AR display prototypes to develop, prove, and demonstrate critical technologies

Develop and implement new methods for characterizing AR displays and compensating AR display performance. Implementations could be in MATLAB or Python for characterization and algorithm development, or OpenGL/DirectX in C/C++ for real-time validation on prototypes

Work cross-functionally with teams responsible for metrology, calibration, world locked rendering, eye-tracking, and prototyping to ensure display performance and correctness

Represent computational requirements and needs of the display team to our cross-functional partners

Identify and fill missing links in current methods and practices

Gap-filling work on methods to unblock prototype work before final production methods are ready

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, optics, or a related field

Experience in imaging, image processing, optics, metrology & calibration for displays and/or cameras

Experience in 3D math for computer vision & graphics

Experience in algorithm development and numerical optimization
