Meta Reality Labs (RL) is a world leader in the design of virtual and augmented reality systems. We are currently seeking innovative research interns with a passion for technology to develop next-generation head-mounted display and imaging systems at our research location in Redmond, WA. These roles are focused on developing advanced optical imaging and sensing systems for near eye display. In particular we welcome PhD students in optics, electrical engineering, applied physics or similar, with a strong background in design and characterization of diffractive optical elements and optical imaging systems, tissue imaging, sensing and detection, or testing and metrology.
Our internships are twelve (12) to sixteen (16) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in the field of Optics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
2+ years experience with optical design software, Code V, Zemax, FRED, or Lighttools
2+ years experience with design of photonic integrated circuits and/or diffractive optical elements
Strong knowledge in geometrical optics, and physical optics
Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
Description(岗位职责)
Develop next generation AR/VR systems with an emphasis on modeling and design of new optical concepts
Collaborate with the larger RL team and provide creative leadership on imaging and sensing technologies, photonic integration, and set the path for prototyping
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
2+ years experience with scientific programming languages such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, Mathematica, or similar
Demonstrated experience via an internship, work experience
Experience with taking optical systems from concept to design
Experience designing freeform optics
Experience with FDTD modeling tools such as Lumerical or Comsol
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by at least one first-authored optics relevant publication at peer-reviewed journal (SPIE, OSA, IEEE, etc)
