Reality Lab’s Wireless Technology Engineering for Devices (TED) group is looking for research scientist interns to join our research team driving the state-of-the-art in antenna technology for AR/VR products.
Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on RF/Microwave engineering or Antenna design
Experience with electromagnetic theory, antenna and array fundamentals and RF basics
Hands-on experience with lab equipment, such as anechoic chambers, SAR test equipment, and VNAs, as shown by previous internship or industry experience, publication, or class work.
1+ years working with different EDA/EM tools, such as CST, HFSS, ADS, XFDTD and other tools such as Matlab, ADS, and Optenni Lab
Experience with at least one programming language, i.e. Matlab, Python, Shell
Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Work on forward-looking wireless technologies for communication, powering, and sensing
Collaborate with the intern host on new antenna technology investigation and introduction in the areas of AR/VR
Internship work involves electromagnetic simulations, antenna prototyping, and/or system measurements
Communicate and present results to a wide range of audiences
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications
Experience in designing, prototyping, and testing tunable/configurable antennas and/or antenna arrays
Experiences with wireless technologies for communication (i.e. Cellular, WiFi/Bluetooth), powering, or sensing.
Knowledge of latest antenna design concepts for electronic devices such as cellular devices, wearables, and other compact personal wireless devices
