Come and develop, drive, and deliver new products in the world of AR/VR! Join us on the ground floor of breakthrough technologies and help build a world-class sourcing team. As a Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM), you will be responsible for developing the key strategic relationships with critical battery suppliers (in particular lithium-ion battery cell and pack) including exploration of new or advanced technologies, part costing, and supply chain management. This role collaborates closely with Battery Engineering, Program Management, Technical Operations, and other cross-functional teams. During the product development process, you are responsible for ensuring the suppliers are prepared to support the delivery of key parts on-time at specified quality, and yield parameters and are prepared to meet the ramp quantities. It is the SSM’s primary objective to ensure suppliers meet or exceed commercial and technical requirements throughout the life-cycle of the product(s).
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Bachelors degree
7+ years work experience in sourcing or related disciplines in power including battery cell and pack or related commodities
Experience in technology and supplier evaluation/selection, should cost models, contract negotiations and supply base management
5+ years of leadership, program management, and cross-functional teamwork experience
Experience communicating with and influencing all levels of management especially senior and executive leadership
Description（岗位职责）
Develop commodity or category sourcing strategies ensuring the suppliers are capable of meeting RL’s current and future technical and business requirements by analyzing market trends and technologies
Establish supplier selection criteria, evaluate alternative suppliers, manage the Request for Quote (RFQ) process, and drive final supplier selection in partnership with the Battery Engineering Team, Quality, and other cross-functional partners
Create, negotiate, and execute various comprehensive agreements as needed with suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms
Formulate contingency plans to de-risk technical challenges, long lead time, single source, and any supply issue
Work with CM partners to resolve any part shortages or quality problems which affects production schedules
Own the ramp plan, ongoing production plan and forecast, tooling qualification schedule and tooling life for all designated suppliers
Identify emerging battery technologies and partner with Strategic Sourcing Technology Team on evaluation and commercial partnership structures
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
9+ years of sourcing experience with 3+ years of experience managing suppliers with factories in domestic and international locations highly valued
Deep knowledge and experience with lithium-ion battery market, manufacturing, and supply chain
Experience to independently initiate, lead, and influence cross functional initiatives, processes, and projects
Comprehensive understanding of commercial partnership and deal structures with start-up and emerging battery technology companies
