As an Opto-Mechanical Engineer at Facebook, you will take a critical role in developing future generation AR Systems. You will become part of a team bringing new concepts thru the prototyping stages all the way to mass production. A wide range of approaches will be used combining electrical, mechanical, and optical techniques. We want people who work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, work in new technology areas, are able to drive a concept into a prototype and then mature the design to high-volume consumer product solutions.
We are looking for someone with a productive mindset who can apply their mechanical engineering expertise to solve problems in creative, insightful ways. Our ideal candidate has a strong fundamental engineering background, prototyping skills, 3D CAD capability, and experience designing and manufacturing consumer technology products.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Testing and analysis experience (FEA, CFD, Motion Simulation, Ray Tracing, etc.)
5+ years’ experience doing mechanical design for consumer electronics, optics, or mechatronics projects
Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing methods (Injection Molding, Casting, Machining, 3D printing, etc.)
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Knowledge and application of GD&T techniques, associated metrology approaches, tolerance analysis, and process capability analysis
Description（岗位职责）
Drive Mechanical Engineering activities in a cross-functional hardware team
Model, build, test, and refine AR products and prototypes
Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product
Apply rigorous engineering and tolerance techniques to high precision design requirements in the areas such as Optics, Mechanics, and Motion Control
Coordinate with manufacturers and cross-functional teams on DFM activities, production bring up, and part and assembly qualification
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Knowledge of materials and structural modeling/optimization
Experience with mechanical and optics metrology devices such as CMM, OMM, interferometry
Knowledge of optics component mounting, interfaces, and adhesive bonding
Experience in opto-mechanical design and engineering
7+ years experience working on ME designs in consumer electronics, optics, or mechatronics designs
Experience coordinating DFM activities and bringing up prototyping lines at contract manufacturing sites for consumer electronics
Experience with design and prototyping of head mounted optics
Familiar with Electronics and mechanical system testing, and associated data analysis and statistics
Experience in 3D design modeling (NX and/or SolidWorks preferred) and physical prototyping
