Understanding of different methods of how polarization and diffraction elements are made.

Effective communication to translate complex ideas into digestible messages.

Experience and knowledge in building optical models in one or more of these tools: RCWA modeling, MATLAB, sequential and non-sequential (LightTools, Zemax) ray tracing, and LCD master.

Masters Degree in the field of physics, engineering or other optics-related fields with 8+ years of relevant industry experience or PhD with 5+ years of industry experience.

Experience with Design of experiments and building novel optical metrology methods.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines such as Optics, Displays, Opto-Mechanical Engineering, System Engineering and Manufacturing.

Lead design, design validation and strategy development for next generation optical films and coatings for AR/VR.

Partner with external vendors and internal research divisions to update a robust, long-term product technology roadmap.

Model design tolerances, component designs and system compatibility to guide engineering development.

Coordinate with external vendors to build and test prototypes.

Perform root cause analysis of optical defects using optical simulation methods and reproducing defects experimentally.

Build academic and industry relationships to support research initiatives.

Mentor and support projects for graduate-level research interns and team members.

Travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
