The Metaverse Developer Ecosystem team works closely with developers – building a robust catalog of quality content for users ensuring a safe, secure and high-quality experience. We are looking for a candidate to lead the team responsible for building at-scale content review operations, with a focus on a quality, consistent, and timely experience for our developers.
We’re looking for a Manager to lead the Content Review Operations team and to design and execute operational efficiency across all vectors of their team’s responsibilities. The Content Review team will review applications for compliance across technical requirements, data use policies and content policies. This team is focused across two functions: triage completed in partnership with the vendor management team and triage managed by the internal app review team. You will also manage monitoring of new and existing safeguards, first line testing and working with external partners for second and third line testing.
In this role, you will support and guide day-to-day operations, mentor the team for career growth, implement product and policy updates and advocate internally for team and ecosystem needs. You will leverage people management and mentoring to lead a team of content review specialists and vendor managers to ensure healthy business operations. You and your team will partner with Engineers, Legal, Communications, Content, Data Science, Product and Policy to identify patterns and behaviors and build solutions for the ever-changing field of content review and vendor management.
A successful candidate for this role will have experience managing scaled operations, optimizing processes and/or managing open platform application stores and the infrastructure upon which they run.
Solutions-oriented, with analytical and creative problem-solving skills, and proven experience to spot patterns and formalize complex ideas into a well-defined process
Experience defining and reporting on relevant metrics
Communication skills, experience to clearly document complex issues and build consensus on a course of action
3+ years people management experience in an operations role at an internet, gaming or technology company
Critical thinking and prioritization skills
Provide visionary leadership to enhance and develop team culture and commitment to impact
Lead vendor managers and content review specialist teams
Supervise review process for third party submissions to the Oculus Store to ensure apps meet technical and content policy requirements, and are correctly configured in proprietary CMS
Work closely with Policy, Integrity, Privacy, Legal, and Communications teams to ensure Oculus Store policies are clearly defined, communicated, and applied fairly. Maintain current domain knowledge of the world of policy review, integrity, and risk and apply new techniques and technologies available to maintain a safe environment
Identify and recommend ways to improve team performance through automation, tooling, rule, process, or policy changes
Gather information from domain experts for new products and features, maintain test plan and coordinate training for the App Review and Integrity team
Become well-versed in our policies and safeguards and be able to represent the team with partner departments including Legal, Policy and Communications and external assessors
Set clear targets and objectives, and establish bi-annual OKRs for each area of responsibility
Experience managing multi-functions and disciplines under one team with clear vision, mission and expectation setting
5+ years of experience in operations, preferably at an internet, gaming or technology company
Quick-thinker and fast learner especially proven in dynamic environments
Experience inspecting data, digest trends, and surface insights from internal dashboards monitoring KPIs across internal and external teams
Experience working well in a highly collaborative environment, influence cross-functionally, and build strong relationships across the organization
