Qualifications(岗位要求)
Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Optical Sciences, Nanoscience, Physics, Electronic Engineering, or related field, and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Experience must include 24 months of experience in the following:
Designing or manufacturing experience in optics, thin films, coating, or metrology field
Introducing multiple new optics related technologies into the MP
Driving cross functional projects
Familiar with optical device design, development, or prototyping
Experience with optical device characterization and optimizations
Experience and knowledge of optical requirement definition, characterization, and performance optimization
Experience thinking strategically to support ideology with facts and data
Experience articulating points of view with executive management but execute plans when directed
Description(岗位职责)
Help oversee optical product development and manufacturing of Facebook Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) and Portal hardware products
Influence product definitions, designs, and specifications for our organization, and manufacturing of our AR/VR and Portal hardware
Determine and spend of optical raw materials, to the individual components on a board, to the final consumer end product
Drive technical innovation, high quality standards and cost-savings via a customized supply chain
Apply engineering and manufacturing experience in optics, thin films, coating, and metrology field to drive new hardware products
Introduce multiple new optics related technologies into the MP
Responsible for optical device design, development, prototyping of hardware
Drive optical device characterization and optimizations
Support and influence the HWD engineering team in new technology scoping effort with potential optical/materials/equipment partners
In conjunction with sourcing managers and Devices HWD engineering team, support and influence new technology exploration, create Technology Roadmap to align with Product Roadmaps, and secure cross-functional alignment accordingly
Find and evaluate new optical technology and materials that enables MP scalability with most optimum Total Cost of Ownership
Responsible for optical requirement definition, characterization, and performance optimization
Assess and assist in formulating capex and unit cost modeling for emerging technologies
Own Supplier Plan of Record (SPOR) and ensure alignment with cross-functional stakeholders
Assist Sourcing Managers with identifying industrial partners for high volume manufacturing of new optical technologies (materials, process, equipment, suppliers, testers, etc.)
Assess vendor capabilities to take on new, disruptive, technologies and manufacturing processes
Perform a deep dive on manufacturing processes to understand process capability and analyze implications to performance KPI, yields, UPH, capex impact
Use lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and cost from manufacturing operation at vendor site and perform Value Engineering (second source qualification, alternate materials/process evaluation/qualification, and other cost reduction initiative at the material/manufacturing level)
In conjunction with cross-functional stakeholders, support and influence technology transfer to scalable manufacturing partners from R&D/development/prototype lines
