As a Software Engineer at FRL in Zurich, you will develop some of our flagship AR and VR products, or foster our scientific explorations. You will collaborate with highly diverse teams, threading together newly developed technologies to create intuitive experiences that enhance people’s experience of the world around them. The ideal candidate is a software engineer with experience in 3D, AR, VR, MR or computer vision using for example physics simulation or computer graphics technologies. You will bring together innovative design with new technologies (related to 3D applications and games). You have a passion for computer graphics, virtual or augmented reality and enjoy rapid iterative development for products or research.

3+ years of experience with C++ or C# programming
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in the field of Computer Science, Computational Physics, Computer Graphics, Animation or a similar field
2+ years of experience using or building 3D engines (Unity, Unreal, etc), 3D applications or equivalent
2+ years of experience in any of the following: computer graphics, rendering, physics-based simulation, advanced optimization techniques, motion capture, games middleware (& tooling) or 3D reconstruction
2+ years of experience shipping one or more products on large code bases that span a range of platforms and tools
Build tools and infrastructure for any of the following: physics-based modeling and simulation tools / novel computer vision / computer graphics algorithms (such as real-time photorealistic rendering, photoreal material modeling, physics-based animation, motion capture) / prototypes for future AR/VR experiences
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and researchers in areas like computer vision, machine learning, graphics and art
Develop prototypes for future AR/VR experiences, cutting edge research, drive continued development, or integrate robust solutions into products
Write clean readable code, debug complex problems that span systems
Set direction in how Facebook Reality Labs develop future 3D capabilities
2+ years of experience with any combination of the following: 3D graphics (lighting, effects, shaders or other low-level system), image processing, computer vision techniques, finite element modeling and analysis, differentiable rendering, machine learning, numerical optimization, visual effects (VFX), 3D rendering, 3D reconstruction, motion capture or mobile CPU/GPU programming, gameplay tooling and pipeline development or gameplay development in AR/VR (Kinect, VR, AR, Sony Eyetoy)
2+ years of experience with any of the following: garment modelling (and simulation), VR / AR / MR development, biomechanical modelling or custom physics simulations
1+ year experience mentoring junior staff / interns
