New Product Experimentation (NPE) is a community of entrepreneurs at Meta building new experiences that will meaningfully improve people’s lives. As a Game Director at NPE, you will lead the development of a new social game from concept to launch and beyond. This is a unique opportunity to join Meta with significant freedom to take creative risks and you should be adept at fast-paced experimentation and ready to launch, fail, and iterate quickly.
Our ideal candidate has the ability to lead a small team, ideate and build a game from scratch, and bring key executive stakeholders along on the journey.
Experience communicating with executive level stakeholders, investors, publishers, etc.
Shipped a game as a lead/senior designer (Lead role on the shipped title(s) “must” include design)
Experience and Interest for designing the play experiences that connect with our designated audience (15-24 M/F parity)
Experience and Interest for designing multiplayer, social experiences/systems
10+ years of experience making games
Experience working in/with Unreal Engine or Unity (or equivalent game engine)
Experience building, leading and managing a team, as well as managing up. Needs to be knowledgeable to communicate well with the team as its leader, within the team as part of the production process (whether they’re a designer, engineer, artist, etc.), and with stakeholders outside of day-to-day
Demonstrated design decision making experience. An innate design sense and the experience to collaborate and take input are definitely needed and expected, but a director also needs to be knowledgeable to identify when to pick an approach/direction (based on all ideas) and move forward
Leading a small team to conceptualize, develop, and launch an innovative social game
Establishing and communicating game vision and strategy with executive leadership and key stakeholders
Managing budget and scope for the game
Quickly recruiting best-of-class talent and developing them into a high-functioning team
Experience with F2P games, including business model and live operations as service post launch, community management, taking feedback from players, etc.
