The Reality Labs VR Hardware Product Engineering team is looking for an experienced Product Design (Mechanical) Engineering Manager to lead a diverse team of engineers to design the next generation of VR devices. As a Product Design Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in bringing VR to our customers.
Our ideal candidate has experience leading hardware teams to ship consumer devices and has a passion for building great teams and developing people. Communication and technical aptitude are critical in this role as you will often be a liaison between cross-functional engineering teams and you will need to accurately identify project priorities, risks & feasibility, and drive deliverables on tight timelines.
As an expert in product design, you should have a strong background in mechanical engineering for complex embedded systems. As an expert in your engineering field, you will be in charge of supervising the mechanical design and architecture of our custom systems.

Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree
7+ years experience in mechanical design for consumer electronics devices or similar/related products
2+ years of experience managing a team of mechanical engineers
Knowledge of state-of-the-art mechanical design and simulation tools, prototyping tools, manufacturing technologies and materials
Experience working with UX, ID, manufacturing, reliability, and other cross-functional teams
Experience with NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar 3D modeling software
Experience with designing stamped, CNC, MIM and plastic injection molded parts
Experience working closely with contract manufacturers and international suppliers
Description（岗位职责）
Manage product design (mechanical) engineers working on complex VR hardware devices for consumers
Understand technical architectures, long and short term planning processes, hardware product road-mapping, and other issues & constraints to create comprehensive plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges
Guide architectural trade-off discussions, facilitate design reviews, and execute mechanical engineering tasks directly as needed to support the team and keep projects on-track
Partner with cross functional teams to facilitate effective collaboration between product teams
Willingness to travel upwards of 10% to domestic and international sites
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree
4+ years of management experience, including hiring for and building teams
Experience with sensing and feedback technologies
Experience with optical/camera systems
Experience designing products with complex and compact thermal management systems
Experience designing products with complex and space constrained electro-mechanical mechanisms
