The Service Management and Operations Team has the responsibility for evaluating technologies and developing solutions that allow Meta Reality Labs (RL) to support products delivered to the market at scale. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Service Operations Engineering Manager to join and lead a team of engineers focused on remanufacturing, factory setup and supplier qualification.
The role of a Service Operations Engineering Manager is complex and must be led by someone who is technically proficient to work with the engineering design teams, but also experienced in supply chain and remanufacturing to bring the hardware process and technology into the mass production. You must have demonstrated knowledge of FATP components and systems, understating key factors in both the development, qualification, and manufacturing aspects of final products. Your role will be to act as the interface between the Meta Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to implement and execute comprehensive service solutions for our products.
BS or MS degree in engineering or related field.
6+ years of experience in repair manufacturing, production line qualifications in NPI and sustaining.
3+ years of experience in people management.
Experience in product support in the high-tech space and driving projects with results.
Experience in driving results, motivate, and instill a sense of urgency in others.
Knowledge of customer service operations, consumer warranty policies, and repair operations.
Knowledgeable in yield improvements, floor layout planning, and line balancing UPH planning.
Knowledgeable in manufacturing engineering aspects: fixture design and development, process engineering, manufacturing test development, returns analysis.
Understanding of considerations of building hardware and tooling technologies.
Experience thinking strategically, continually innovating against the marketplace and customers’ needs.
History in tracking data driven processes.
Influence, communication, problem solving, and collaboration skills.
Lead a team of Service Operations Engineers to drive DFx (rework-ability, manufacturability, cost) initiatives, conduct serviceability assessments, drive repair qualification, track metrics, improve quality of the production line, establish component harvesting strategy, and drive repair process operational efficiency to scale.
Provide assignments, direction and manage priorities to team members.
Support the growth and development of team members.
Define and monitor Key Process Indicators. Understand changes in key metrics and lead change where needed.
Drive service technical support strategy and establish processes that optimizes for customer satisfaction.
Build strategic relationships and manage communication with multiple partner teams.
Collaborate with manufacturing test engineering, manufacturing partners, and suppliers to develop robust test stations and on-device calibrations.
Strong experience building cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization.
Experience with automation assembly and inspection tool development.
Consumer Electronics and/or Carrier experience.
