At Meta, we’re developing the future of AR/VR. The display and optics team based is dedicated to developing hardware components for next-generation products. The Devices Team is looking for a Research Scientist, Device Integrator with experience across multiple LED material systems. This role is particularly suited for a candidate with research science background who has experience on the development of high performance optical devices.


PhD in physics, chemistry or materials science.

5+ years’ experience in III-V semiconductor devices.

Demonstrated experience in device integration for optical devices.

Appreciated of the challenges associated with both nitride and phosphide material system.

Evidence of delivery on research programs within a challenging timeline.

Device physics knowledge to support design and integration decisions.


Owner of the research program for the development of high efficiency light emitting device.

Support the development of multiple technical approaches to produce proof-of-concept devices.

Working with internal and external partners to rapidly iterate on designs to support model-fab-test feedback loop.

Develop a detailed understanding of the capabilities and limits of currently available technology.

Align research program with development plans and integration schemes for new technology injections.

Designing and implementing experimental work-flows partner facilities.

Cross-function engagement to present technical challenges from multiple team to partners team.

Working with internal and external partners on tech transfer.

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Experience fabricating VCSEL, edge-emitting laser diodes, superluminescent or resonant-cavity light-emitting diodes.

Experience with epitaxy design of VCSEL, edge-emitting laser diodes, superluminescent or resonant-cavity light-emitting diodes.

Evidence of work with modelling team to provide physical realization of target designs and to iterate research targets.

Application of optical characterization techniques evaluate far-field profiles.

Experience in delivering research outcomes by partnering with external organizations.
