Reality Labs brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of virtual and augmented reality, which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. And just as personal computers have done over the past 45 years, AR and VR will ultimately change everything about how we work, play, and connect. We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interface, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence. Some of those will advance much faster than others, but they all need to happen to enable AR and VR that are so compelling that they become an integral part of our lives.
At Reality Labs Research (RL-R), our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Visiting Researcher to join our team, whose mission is to help us push the state-of-the-art of the simulatable in real time, bringing rich, multi-physics, and high-fidelity simulations to virtual interactions. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience in physics simulations and computer graphics who can work with a team of researchers developing state-of-the-art numerical methods to unlock realistic and natural virtual interactions. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Computational Mathematics, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Experience with implementing state-of-the-art algorithms for large scale numerical linear algebra, numerical optimization, numerical PDEs and AI/ML.
Experience with physics simulations with applications in computer graphics and animation.
Experience with implementing state-of-the-art algorithms for large scale numerical linear algebra, numerical optimization, numerical PDEs and AI/ML.
Experience with developing in C/C++ and python.
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Description(岗位职责)
Research and develop state-of-the-art numerical methods for real-time simulations.
Work collaboratively with other research scientists, research engineers and software engineers to develop and implement novel solutions and methods for interactive simulations.
Build VR based demos and experiences based on the developed tools.
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
Experience in the domain of AR/VR and specifically in physics simulations for virtual interactions.
Experience with Unreal, Unity or other game engines.
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences.
Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
