Meta is looking for an Academic Partnerships Manager to join the Policy Campaigns and Programs team, based in Europe. The Policy Campaigns and Programs team is responsible for designing and managing campaigns that leverage the extraordinary reach of Meta.
The Academic Partnerships Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing strategic external relationships with academics and academic institutions, including policy-influential think-tanks, across Europe, with a particular focus on the XR/metaverse ecosystem. The Manager will coordinate networks of academics to inform the responsible development of the metaverse and build programs leveraging Meta’s research efforts across the region, focusing on reaching policymakers. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, be familiar with standing up and managing complex research projects, and have a deep understanding and passion for technology policy issues, ideally gained through work with/for a major technology company. This role reports into the Head of Policy Campaigns, Partnerships and Systems.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Academic background and/or experience working with the academic community
Experience in communicating and collaborating with large cross functional teams
Knowledge of internet, technologies, and scaled program development
Knowledge/expertise and demonstrated experience working with XR technologies
Experience defining, developing and leading complex projects in a fast-paced, changing environment
Time management, facilitation, and organizational skills
Experience in working effectively, collaboratively and cross-functionally
Experience working independently, remotely with European stakeholders
Fluency in English
Description（岗位职责）
Establish and manage relationships with academic institutions and researchers and lead European conversations on XR/metaverse technologies and policy issues.
Devise and stand up networks/fora of academics across Europe and enable a multi-stakeholder dialogue focused on the impact of the metaverse on society.
Run regular feedback processes and manage check-ins with local market teams, including raising local support needs as they arise, including those relating to narratives, collateral, etc. for engagement with policy stakeholders.
Establish new internal research processes and functions to enable local policy teams across Europe to understand, and speak to, the latest external and internal research relating to the metaverse.
Collaborate closely with all Policy Campaign leads to ensure a consistent approach to research and academic partnerships is taken across all Policy Campaigns.
Regularly provide updates on research and academic partnerships to local policy team and cross-functional partner teams.
