Meta AR/VR Job | Research Scientist, Computational Modeling for Hearing Correction (PhD)
Job(岗位): Research Scientist, Computational Modeling for Hearing Correction (PhD)
Type(岗位类型): Research
Citys(岗位城市): Redmond, WA
Date(发布日期): 2022-2-28
Summary(岗位介绍)
Reality Labs Research (RL-R) at Meta brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of augmented and virtual reality, which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. And just as personal computers have done over the past 45 years, AR and VR will ultimately change everything about how we work, play, and connect.
We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interfaces, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, and perception science. Some of those will advance much faster than others, but they all need to happen to enable AR and VR that are so compelling that they become an integral part of our lives.
The audio team within RL-R is looking for a full-time Research Scientist with a broad set of skills in computational modeling for hearing perception applications. In this role, you will be designing and applying digital signal processing and machine learning techniques to problems in hearing sciences and hearing correction.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in the field of hearing science, auditory neuroscience, computer science, deep learning, machine learning, computer or electrical engineering, or related field.
3+ years solving problems in auditory perception, auditory modeling, audiology, hearing science, or hearing correction as evidenced by academic publications or industry experience.
3+ years experience with development, implementation, and testing of audio digital signal processing methods.
3+ years experience with scientific programming languages such as Python, C++, MATLAB, or similar.
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Develop/design, implement, and test novel computational models to solve complex research problems in the areas of hearing science and hearing correction.
Collaborate with and support other research scientists and engineers within the Audio Team and the larger RL-R organization.
Collaborate with external academic or industry groups to advance our research goals.
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
Experience with development and implementation of machine learning or deep learning algorithms applied to auditory perception, auditory modeling, audiology, or hearing correction problems.
Experience building and validating computational models on speech and/or acoustic datasets.
Proven track record of independence in achieving significant results and innovation as demonstrated by first-authored publications.
Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
