We are currently seeking innovative scientists who have experience developing high performance optimization algorithms for advanced optical and photonic device design. This is a full-time position and requires an advanced degree in mathematics, physics, or similar, and a strong background in optimization algorithms and innovation as well as proficient software development skills. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic cross-functional team.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
PhD in physics, mechanical engineering, statistics, or similar field.
3+ years of experience with developing experimentation methodologies, such as Bayesian optimization, active learning, or DoE.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, R, or Go.
Experience of demonstrating technical leadership working with teams, owning projects, defining and setting technical direction for projects.
Experience working in a cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration environment.
Description(岗位职责)
Participate as a key member on novel algorithmic breakthroughs in sample-efficient optimization algorithms to enable better optical and photonic design for AR/VR hardware.
Develop optimization algorithms to increase manufacturing yield and lower cost of advanced optical and photonic devices.
Develop novel optimization algorithms that can scale to optimization tasks performed in a distributed compute environment.
Contribute to strategically planning on new algorithms and advanced optimization capabilities for future products and technologies.

Experience with developing and using robust design techniques to improve manufacturing yield and lower cost of hardware products
Experience with geometric optics, physical optics, diffractive optics, or micro-optics
