The Depth & Sensors Team at Meta Research Lab is driving the research and development of state-of-the-art camera’s and depth/input sensing technologies enabling Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality products through relentless innovation. As a Calibration Engineer in this group, you will advance Meta’s mission of connecting the world by developing state-of-the-art calibration solutions for enabling AR/VR experiences across all HW platforms.

Qualifications(岗位要求)

Bachelor degree in Computer, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics or related field and/or experience.

4+ years experience with multi-sensor fusion (cameras, depth sensors, inertial sensors, stereo imaging), system calibration and module intrinsic calibration.

Knowledge of camera models, diffractive optic elements and lasers.

Understanding of intrinsic and extrinsic calibration methods for multiple depth sensing technologies including direct time of flight (SPAD, TDC calibration), structured light (camera optics) etc.

Proficient in MATLAB and Python.

Programming skills in C or C++.

Experience in one or more source control systems like Git or SVN.

Hands-on laboratory or factory experience with mechanical and electrical hardware bring-up and debug.

Production code deployment experience.

Experience in Statistics and failure analysis.

Description(岗位职责)

Drive development of state-of-the-art reference algorithms for depth system calibration and sensor fusion.

Collaborate across multiple disciplines to define calibration strategy through all nodes sensor system, infield and implement scaling of reference calibration algorithms.

Analyze and improve efficiency of algorithms. Evaluate precision and accuracy of depth sensing calibration process in R&D and production.

Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the depth sensing calibration processing in the early stage of new production introduction.

Plan and drive DoE’s (Design of Experiments) and simulations to understand impact of calibration performance on planned use case.

Work with unfamiliar hardware at the SDK level to calibrate early prototypes.

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics or related field.

Hands-on experience with indirect TOF calibration and sensing system.

Background in Computer Vision – Image processing, SLAM, 3D reconstruction.

Linear algebra, 3D geometry and numerical optimization experience.

Experience working on consumer electronic products.

Familiar with camera, ISP and sensor firmware.
