Meta/Reality Labs Research (RL Research) brings together a world-class team of researchers and engineers to create the future of augmented and virtual reality, which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. And just as personal computers have done over the past 45 years, AR and VR will ultimately change everything about how we work, play, and connect.

We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interfaces, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence. Some of those will advance much faster than others, but they all need to happen to enable AR and VR that are so compelling that they become an integral part of our lives.

The audio team within FRL Research is looking for an experienced, innovative MEMS transducer scientist – to join our growing team. You will be leading work towards new transducers with the aim to improve listener’s hearing abilities under challenging listening conditions, with a team of dedicated researchers, developers, and engineers. You will operate at the intersection of acoustics, hearing and signal processing algorithms with hardware and software co-design.

Qualifications(岗位要求)

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

PhD in Acoustical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

3+ years of experience in acoustics, transducer prototyping, and mechano-acoustical simulation in tools like COMSOL, ANSYS, or equivalent.

3+ years of experience in MEMS development.

3+ years of experience in a programming or scripting language such as Matlab, Python, or C/C++.

Description(岗位职责)

Research, design, simulate and advance the state of the art in MEMS speaker technology.

Development of new MEMS designs and concepts in Solid Works and COMSOL Multiphysics.

Development of innovative audio solutions for Consumer Electronics like earphones and wearables.

Work closely with ME, EE, TPM, etc. to design and prototype audio devices.

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Experience with a variety of acoustic test equipment such as audio interfaces, Klippel, Soundcheck, Audio Precision, L-Edit or equivalent

Familiarity with microfabrication

Familiarity with dynamic and/or piezoelectric transducers

Strong design, implementation, research and project leading skills

Decisive, action-oriented team player who learns quickly and takes ownership of open issues
