Reality Labs seeks a Materials Engineer – Thin film Optical Coating with the ability to bring new materials to consumer products at scale.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Optics or equivalent
5 years of experience developing, testing, evaluating and specifying various thin film optical coating processes, such as PVD and CVD and PECVD.
Knowledge of various thin film growth manufacturing technologies including wet coatings, evaporation, sputtering, etc
Hands-on experience with optical coating deposition.
Ability to relate process parameters to microstructure coating properties.
In-depth understanding & capability to characterize thin film coating material and process impacts for optical and mechanical properties.
Deep experience with problem solving for production at coating applicators and coating related failure analysis.
Familiarity with substrate materials including plastic and glass.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use statistical tools and techniques.
Experience thriving in an extremely dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Description（岗位职责）
Understand the Reality Labs’ product roadmap and identify risks and opportunities related to inorganic optical coatings.
Work with cross functional teams and provide optical coating expertise throughout the full hardware development cycle.
Work with suppliers to develop new coating materials and processes by understanding the relationship between thin film material properties, microstructure and process parameters.
Design and set up new test vehicles and DOEs vendor sites to evaluate and select materials.
Define and execute testing inorganic optical thin film coating to determine performance and drive material selection of RL products.
Seamlessly transition materials and process technology to high volume production at suppliers.
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
MS or PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Optics or equivalent.
Familiarity with using Macleod, CODE, Opti Layer, Matlab, or other coating design software.
