Summary(岗位介绍)

We are seeking innovative and self-motivated Research Scientists to advance state-of-the-art efficient deep learning algorithms for AR/VR devices. The focus of this role is to enable accurate yet highly efficient on-device deep learning for computer vision, sensor signals, and natural language processing by developing a full set of technologies, including efficient architectures, model compression through quantization, pruning, and neural architecture search, as well as model/hardware co-design and co-optimization. The position requires a combination of expertise in machine learning and model compression, and domain knowledge in computer vision or natural language processing.

Qualifications(岗位要求)

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree or completing a postdoctoral assignment in the field of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing or similar

Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

Demonstrated software engineering experience within a complex codebase via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions to open source repositories such as GitHub

Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration

Description(岗位职责)

Develop efficient deep learning models for problems in computer vision, e.g., convolutional models and vision transformers for pose estimation, super resolution, etc., and natural language processing, e.g., BERT/TinyBERT for question answering

Develop deep learning model optimization algorithms and infrastructure to enable efficient model deployment on Meta AR/VR devices

Co-design the model and the hardware to achieve the best performance given various real time latency and power constraints

Lead and contribute to cutting-edge research that results in industry-leading tech demos and/or publications

Collaborate with cross-disciplinary research and engineering teams

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Experience, including PhD research, in related fields of 3D computer vision, human tracking and reconstruction, multi-sensor fusion, and multi-modality understanding

Experience, including PhD research, in related fields of neural machine translation, question answering, etc.

Experience, including PhD research, in related fields neural architecture search, model/accelerator co-design and co-optimization

Experience in deep learning algorithms and techniques, e.g., convolutional neural networks (CNN), recurrent networks (RNN), transformer, BERT and/or related areas

Contributed (as the first author) to publications on machine learning at leading workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, ISCA, etc.

3+ years experience with deep learning software libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
