Just as personal computers have done over the past 45 years, AR and VR will ultimately change everything about how we work, play, and connect. We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interface, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence. Some of those will advance much faster than others, but they all need to happen to enable AR and VR that are so compelling that they become an integral part of our lives.
The Surreal Vision group at RL Research is seeking exceptional Research Scientists to solve research challenges on the path to building future machine perception enabled technologies. The aim of this role is to develop and advance computer vision algorithms and SW systems for real-time and offline SLAM, sensor fusion, structure from motion, odometry, sensor/display calibration, 3D reconstruction and relocalization.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Foundational knowledge of basic computer architecture and computer arithmetic concepts.
Experience building systems with unconventional computing techniques such as approximate computing and stochastic computing.
Experience with HW accelerator design.
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in computer science, computer engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Experience with system-level evaluation of machine learning applications.
Description（岗位职责）
Explore new computing platforms for machine perception applications.
Perform application-level and system-level benchmarking, profiling, and analysis.
Perform system-level research to enable efficient algorithm deployment.
Document findings and prepare technical report that lays out the path for further research and technology transfer.
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Experience with ASIC/FPGA design.
Experience with computer vision and machine learning applications.
Experience with system-level simulation.
Experience with Python.
Demonstrated software engineering skills, experience working within a complex codebase.
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, or fellowships, as well as first-authored publications in DAC, DATE, ICCAD, ICCD, ASAP, ASPLOS, ISCA, etc.
Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
