Summary(岗位介绍)

Oculus Game Studios is seeking a highly skilled Combat Designer who will work with the development team to create a deep combat experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for balancing, bug fixing, and making improvements to all facets of combat in the game.

Qualifications(岗位要求)

3+ years of games industry experience

Scripting or programming experience (Blueprint, Lua, C++/C#, etc.)

Must have some familiarity with workflow and best practices for modern engines (CryEngine, Unreal Engine 4, Unity, Etc.)

Experience thinking logically, with a focus on attention to detail

Proven team player with the experience collaborating across disciplines

Expert game design sensibilities, including a superb grasp of timing and instincts of what feels right

Understanding of the game-play systems and mechanics, pro/con design decisions and the ramifications they will have on the overall experience

Experience maintaining clear and concise documentation for all systems

Effective communication skills

Description(岗位职责)

Design, develop and maintain combat systems

Creating strong design proposals and combat system specifications

Well-versed in the areas of control mechanics, enemy design, AI behaviors, combat/weapons, skills/progression, story, and boss encounters

Balance combat difficulty progression across the length of the game

Strong working imagination able to invent compelling enemies and envision dramatic encounters which harmonize with the narrative themes of the game

Work to create an engaging combat experience in service of the project’s vision and goals

Collaborate with and take direction from the Game Director to take enemy designs and combat systems from concept to completion

Collaborate with art, code, audio, animation, visual effects to deliver enemies and combat systems that epitomize the creative vision of the game

Facilitate communication and coordination between relevant departments to ensure overall creative vision

Perform research to acquire new knowledge necessary to perform assigned tasks

Participate in collaborative design sessions to develop and refine ideas for the game

Complete tasks in a timely fashion as well as making sure they are robust, expandable, and fun

Ability to self-critique and accept outside critique

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

In-depth knowledge of content development tools and various engines such as Unreal and Unity

Experience developing AAA console and/or VR products
