The Facebook Reality Labs team is building products that make it easier for people to connect with the ones they love most. As an Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting and managing a team of Electrical Engineers who thrive on fast-paced rapid iteration and being highly collaborative in a cross-functional environment.

The Concept Design team actively participates in concept development and design ideation of cutting-edge technologies. The team is responsible for rapidly building and iterating polished high-fidelity prototypes and development platforms that bring new ideas to life by expressing design intent and user experience – using the best and most appropriate tools and techniques for the task. While we want these prototypes to be optimized for speed, the hardware and software should be designed with the ultimate goal of mass production.

These prototypes and development platforms will be used to prove and sell concepts through establishing end user value to development teams and leadership; additionally, they would be used in testing and data collection in support of technology and algorithms development.

This role will focus on guiding career growth; establishing and tracking goals for highly ambiguous programs; managing priorities and resources across an ever-developing portfolio of short-, mid- and long-term projects; you must be a self-starter, well-organized and have excellent communication skills. Our team is constantly growing and you will be relied upon to help define team direction and be motivated to improve the effectiveness of our tools and processes from each project to the next.

Qualifications（岗位要求）

BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical or Computer Systems Engineering

8+ years of direct experience in consumer electronics electrical design role

3+ years of management experience in embedded or device hardware teams at the intersection of advanced tech and product

Experience building teams

Experience working with external partners & manufacturers

Demonstrated cross-functional experience, with experience working with Product Design engineers, SW architecture, and other hardware/software functions

Knowledge in Consumer Electronics with experience shipping multiple consumer products

Collaborator, proven communication skills with experience managing cross-team and cross-geography collaboration, experience managing by influence

Experience partnering with software teams to define and implement firmware, drivers and algorithms

Description（岗位职责）

Manage a team of Electrical Engineers responsible for consumer electronics product development to drive products through early stage development

Identify key roles required for team success and recruit top engineering talent

Provide team guidance, regular feedback, education, coaching and mentoring

Create career development plans, manage performance, create performance reviews

Manage a wide variety of stakeholders while leading process definition for your team

Help incubate new technologies into research prototypes

Perform architecture and design reviews to ensure hardware quality

Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines in a team environment

Effectively influence leaders and key partners to gain alignment

Champion of engineering rigor in phase gate development. Create specs and KPIs and deliver to these requirements

Champion a data driven culture, operational excellence, and establishing processes and operational metrics and KPI’s

Work with cross-functional engineering managers and architects on hardware and software integration

Domestic travel requirements: 15%

Additional Requirements（额外要求）

Experience with low-power circuit design, DC/DC converters, power management methods, audio circuit design, and analog design

Experience with digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, PCI, etc.

Experience leading and driving design development from schematic capture, PCB layout through assembly

Demonstrated domain knowledge in compute & systems development, proven track record in building advanced technology & product development

Experience with SoC, RF, batteries, sensors integration, Display, custom ASIC/silicon
