Summary（岗位介绍）
As a Wireless Carrier Engineering Lead at Facebook Reality Labs, you will manage the technical certification requirements from the cellular carriers (such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange, DT, etc. for US and/or the global market) while keeping them updated and properly organized for internal consumption. You should also be able to analyze in detail the technical requirements to clearly identify the workload and necessary commitments per team, based on the clear understanding of the requirement and also by working closely with the different teams.
You should be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with the carriers to explain the technical details on the topics related to the devices and manage an active channel with the carriers Technical Subject Matter Experts and point of contacts. You should also be familiar with the overall certification process such as device ranging/registration, feature lockdown process, waiver negotiation, and type approval process with the required deliverables to effectively lead the involved and relevant discussions internally and externally with the carriers. You will be required to prepare the technical documentation for the waiver submission for any topics or any issues that may arise throughout the certification processes, and efficiently lead the negotiation for the waivers.
As a single point of contact for all the matters related to the initial engagement with the target carriers all the way to the device TA, you should be the bridge between our internal development teams and the carriers for the certification of our devices, while tightly working together with our certification testing team to make sure of the on-time TA for the launch.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience in wireless consumer mobile products
Experience in mobile carrier requirement handling and certifications process from beginning to the type approval
Knowledge and experience in carrier engagement including close communication with the SMEs, technical carrier requirement and the deliverables
Experience at least two wireless technology including UMTS, LTE and 5G NR
Description（岗位职责）
Manage and keep the mobile carrier requirement updated as technical point of contact
Manage the relationship and communication with the carrier’s Technical SMEs from the initial engagement to certification activities to TA from the target carriers
Analyze the carrier technical requirement and negotiate the feature development scope for the submission of the compliance towards the target carriers for feature lockdown, while effectively communicating with the internal technical teams (RF, Antenna, Systems, SW, FW, etc.) to provide the guide for the development scope
Work with certification test teams to make sure of the timely delivery of the test deliverables to the target carriers
Drive to execution the overall certification schedule for the target carriers by closely working with the TPM, development and certification test teams
Prepare the waiver submission with the right fixes or technical explanations for any issues that may arise throughout the certification testing processes
Build up and maintain the communication channels with the Technical SMEs from the target carriers
Attend all the carriers’ technical meetings including kick-off and the regular device technical roadmap portfolio update, and any ad-hoc meetings as required
Domestic and international travel to achieve program milestones, when allowed
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Experience in working on the cellular products such as high-end smartphones and wearables from major brands
Deep knowledge of wireless technologies (RF, Antenna, Systems and protocols) and standards (3GPP)
Experience with 5G including FR2/mmWave certification
