We are currently seeking innovative scientists with experience designing, modeling, and prototyping advanced optical systems for near-to-eye display applications. This is a full-time position which requires an advanced degree in optical engineering, physics, or similar, and a strong background in optical system design and innovation. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic cross-functional team. We are seeking a full-time researcher with expertise in holography, fabrication, and testing. The candidate will have a track record in building Optical systems and fabricating Optical components and will work closely with our team of researchers and engineers on nanofabrication technology. Candidates must possess a fundamental understanding of both geometric and physical optics and have extensive experience working in the lab, and in fabrication and characterization of optical devices. The ideal candidate also has experience with a variety of physical optics technologies and the ability to work across multiple technology platforms.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
Knowledge of diffractive optics or photonics including component simulation, integration, and testing.
Experience with electromagnetic modeling and analysis of nanoscale structures, metastructures, anisotropic materials, films, or holographic elements, using algorithms such as RCWA or FDTD.
Experience with scientific programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, Mathematica, or similar.
Description(岗位职责)
Establish process – performance closed loop understanding and provide specific step-up plan input to support Design Validation.
Establish fundamental understanding of as-built physical optics and identify source of design-to-fab performance gaps.
Study component performance and work with Design and Fabrication teams to understand and address design-to-fab differences.
Deploy commercial optical characterization equipment to analyze near-eye display optical components.
Develop concepts for custom optical characterization equipment (where no commercial system exists) and work collaboratively with the Optical engineer and Optomechanical Teams to design, build, and validate the equipment performance.
Support evaluating and characterizing optical elements and image processing algorithms.
Cross-Functional collaboration with design, process, integration, systems teams for rapid cycles of learning.
Execute analyses and evaluate data against Key Performance Indicators to support process quality and feedback evaluation.
Become local subject matter expert and knowledge conduit between partner and site Engineering Change control Management.
Recognize capability gaps and propose executable solutions.
Summarize, document, and present results to internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with both management and fellow peers.
Collaborate closely with technical program managers and the leadership team to devise and execute on the program priorities.
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in field of Engineering, Optical Sciences, Physics, or related field.
Experience with waveguide optics.
Experience in design, fabrication and testing of novel optical structures such as metastructures, holographic elements, sub-wavelength diffractive structures, etc.
Experience with photopolymer material, to fabricate VBG, HOE or PVH.
Experience with designing, simulating, fabricating, and testing physical optical components for AR applications.
Experience in one or more optical design tools such as VirtualLab, Code V, Zemax, Light Tools or FRED.
Laboratory experience designing optical experiments and optical metrology.
Experience with optical metrology tools such as interferometry, image quality testing, and polarization test.
Experience with optical setups such as light sources (lasers and LED’s), diffractive optics, optical materials, thin and thick film optics for either characterization or fabrication purposes.
Experienced in R&D and productization of new technology.
