Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) Sensors Team is helping build novel products in Augmented and Virtual Reality. Facebook AR/VR research and development in Sensors and Sensing Systems is driving the state of-the-art forward through relentless innovation. Our team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future AR/VR products at Facebook. We are looking for candidates with experience in mechanical design from concept to manufacturing, including 3D CAD modeling, Finite Element Analysis, and fast iterative prototyping to assist with the development of novel hardware products within the FRL Sensors Team, while collaborating with experts across multiple domains.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
5+ years’ experience in designing and shipping mid to high volume products
5+ years’ experience in Finite Element Analysis using COMSOL or ANSYS
Experience in CAD design tools, such as SolidWorks and NX for parts, assemblies, drawing generation, GD&T, and configuration management
Familiarity with PDM document management system
Demonstrated experience with a variety of manufacturing methods such as CNC machining, injection molding, stamping, die casting, forging
Demonstrated experience in cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
Description（岗位职责）
Collaborate with other engineers and researchers across Facebook to develop novel hardware products that advance the state-of-the-art in AR/VR systems and wearables
Deliver mechanical and physics-based modeling, simulation, and analysis in support of the development and integration of high-performance sensors for AR/VR systems and wearables
Organize and lead design reviews, solution brainstorm sessions, and disseminate findings
Work with the team to help design, setup, and run practical experiments related to sensor systems in AR/VR products and wearables
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
Experience in electronics packaging, PCBA mechanical design, electro-mechanical integration & interconnects
Experience with hardware assembly, integration and test, common mechanical & electronic lab equipment & measurement techniques
Hands-on experience with Microelectromechanical (MEMS) Sensors such as Gyroscopes, Accelerometers, Pressure Sensors, Microphones or Ultrasonic Transducers
Experience providing oversight to the fabrication and participate in assembly, integration, and test
Exposure to disciplines like mechatronics, robotics, industrial automation
Familiarity with the emerging Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technologies
High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving skills
