Reality Labs (RL) is a world leader in the design of virtual reality systems. We are currently seeking innovative research interns with a passion for technology to develop next-generation soft robotic systems at our research location in Redmond, WA. These roles are focused on the research and invention of intrinsically stretchable electronics manufacturing techniques. We welcome PhD students in mechanical engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering, materials science, or similar field. Our internships are sixteen (16) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in the field of Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
2+ years experience with polymer formulation, base generators, additive manufacturing (3D printing) or other advanced polymer manufacturing technologies.
1+ years experience with hands-on experience with printing electronics.
Description(岗位职责)
Research next-generation fabrication of stretchable electronics with an emphasis on both theory and physical embodiment of the new concepts. The position will have an emphasis on manufacturing conductors and interconnects with advanced materials that inform new concepts for stretchable electronics.
Collaborate with the larger research team, present and share results with key stakeholders.
The type of work should be publishable research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences in materials science.
Additional Requirements(额外要求)
Research experience with liquid metal-based material.
Experience developing, compounding conductive polymers.
2+ years experience with soft material characterization techniques (rheology, tensile test, dielectric spectroscopy and electrical testing).
Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications.
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
