Facebook Reality Labs is seeking an experienced Equipment Safety Engineer to join our growing EHS team. This position is based in Facebook Cork office, reporting to the Global EHS Engineering Manager in Redmond, US.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge in workplace design, machinery safety, automation and safety controls. This role will provide technical support for equipment design review, onsite evaluation and ongoing site assessment and installation and commissioning for Facebook Reality and partner sites throughout EMEA.
The Equipment Safety Engineer ensures equipment meets all local regulatory requirements, conducts equipment risk assessments and supports installation and equipment commissioning activities.
The Equipment Safety Engineer for EMEA is the technical lead for implementing and developing Equipment/ safety management procedure and takes lead in the Capex EHS review and onsite equipment installation evaluation /assessments at EMEA locations. The successful candidate will partner with Capex sourcing, research, hardware engineering teams to ensure the implementation of equipment purchasing and designing EHS review, risk assessment, safety installation and relevant legal compliance matters.
This role will require travel up to 40%, including internationally.
Qualifications(岗位要求)
BS Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or related field
Experienced in EU Machinery Safety Directive
10+ years applicable equipment safety engineering experience, with 3+ years supporting regional
Knowledge in electrical safety, machine guarding, lasers and radiation safety, and automated equipment (robotics)
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and leadership
Description(岗位职责)
Conduct safety and compliance reviews of manufacturing automation equipment during design development stages to ensure compliance with local regulations, best practices and consensus standards
Provide technical support to address safety hazards including radiation, robotics, machine safeguarding
Conduct field equipment evaluations and complete equipment safety risk assessments and validation testing
Conduct routine site inspections to ensure ongoing machinery safety throughout EMEA region
Support EHS team on special projects, inspections and assessments
Participate in design review, installation, and commissioning of new equipment installed in lab and partner locations throughout EMEA
