At Facebook, we are developing the future of AR/VR displays. As a MicroLED Device Integration Engineer within Facebook Reality Labs, your job will be figuring out how to design and implement short-loop test vehicles and integrated flows to inform our RGB LED-based light source architectures and associated performance roadmaps used in our display modules. You’ll be a critical member of a multi-disciplinary team contributing to our efforts to research, develop, and evaluate new device architectures and integration schemes to meet the requirements of Augmented Reality (AR) systems. You will work closely with internal Facebook Reality Labs teams, academic institutions, external partners, and vendors to define both system level and device level requirements and cross-functionally collaborate to execute on the deliverables and technology roadmaps. Ideal team members are adaptable and resilient, eager to approach unfamiliar problems with curiosity and tenacity, and flexible to travel and take on possible assignments at partner locations.

Qualifications(岗位要求)

MS or PhD in Micro-electronics, Physics, Electronic Engineering or Material Science OR equivalent experience

2+ years’ experience in III-V semiconductor devices

Expertise in fabrication of optoelectronic devices such as red, green or blue LEDs or lasers

Broad expertise in semiconductor material & device process integration and architecture

Knowledge and understanding of LED fabrication techniques and processes

Experience using established optical, structural and electrical metrology to improve device characteristics

Description(岗位职责)

Design, implement, utilize, and monitor short-loop test and research flows at both internal and external sites to accelerate technology evaluations and transfer into production flows

Formulate acceptance criteria and KPIs for research flow that translate to module performance/behavior

Provide end-to-end expertise through the engineering phases of LEDs (wafer/epitaxy, device design, fabrication process) including the architecture and device design, device physics, simulation and testing for red, green and blue LEDs

Collaborate on the KPI roadmap/project plans with XFN partners to ensure the system requirements are achieved at the module level

Ensure successful delivery of display modules according to the technology introduction schedules

Ownership of research projects and subprojects, defining and conducting DOEs, timelines and resources, ensuring delivery

Promote and support innovation to facilitate IP generation as appropriate

Interface with suppliers and partners, from a technical and project management perspective

Additional Requirements(额外要求)

Proven history of successful research or development in LED or laser performance optimisation

Experience with semiconductor-based display technology

Experience with phosphides, arsenides, or nitrides

Experience with inter-site technology transfer

Proficiency in structured technical problem solving techniques and methodology
