Our Technology Engineering for Devices (TED) team explores, develops, and delivers new cutting-edge technologies that serve as the foundation of current and future Facebook products. From mixed reality and human interaction to natural inputs and beyond, TED is focused on transforming new technologies from early concept to product by iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences these technologies enable.
The Depth HW team within TED develops high-performance depth solutions for FRL’s AR/VR products. This multidisciplinary group brings research to life by realizing state of the art custom modules including ASICs, lasers, optics, firmware etc. The Depth HW team is seeking an In-Region Projector Lead for managing all engineering activities necessary to deliver projectors into final products from initial design concept.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Bachelor degree in ME/EE or related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience and proven track record in camera, projector or other opto-mechanical consumer electronic module design and development.
Excellent project management, written and verbal communication skills and people skills.
Description（岗位职责）
Mainly will work at module vendor site, system integration site, forming a focal point among worldwide projector module optical, ME and EE teams, system ME and EE teams and component teams.
The candidate will also investigate up-to-date camera and projector technologies and generate new approaches to further enhance FB AR/VR products.
Identify projector/system build issues and engage global teams for timely resolution.
Analyze optical/mechanical/electrical related failures and improve the performance of projector modules.
Work with system engineering team to understand system and validate projector modules at system level
Work with project teams and supply base throughout product development phase and support the initial product ramp
Leverage other FB overseas operations teams to maximize the focus of engineering resources on adding value and differentiation to our products.
Establish and refine the module build/integration best practices.
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
MS or PhD in ME/EE or related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience and proven track record in camera, projector or other opto-mechanical consumer electronic module design and development.
Experience in manufacturing data analysis (jmp, minitab etc).
Experience integrating new technologies into shipping products (NTI)
Experience in laser (VCSEL, edge emitting etc.) technology development.
Experience in optical lenses, diffractive optical element technology development.
