Summary(岗位介绍)

We are looking for a Lead Systems Designer to join us in creating, guiding, and maintaining our tentpole multiplayer VR title, Echo VR. The Lead Systems Designer manages their design team to enable the best output of a variety of core gameplay, progression, rewards, and social system designs.

The Lead Systems Designer will not only collaborate with their direct reports to manage career growth and individual needs through 1-on-1’s and day to day tasks, but will also work with the Project Lead, Production, Programming, and Art departments to deliver high-quality content in the VR space.

An ideal candidate is a self-starting problem-solver with strong systems design skills, management skills and hands-on experience with creating diverse systems.

Qualifications(岗位要求)

5+ years experience as a systems designer with multiple games shipped

Experience mentoring and developing senior, mid, and associate systems designers

Understanding of multiplayer game modes and core gameplay systems

Leadership experience for feature teams across various disciplines to execute on design

Experience taking feedback from directors, leads, and other developers to iterate and improve on designs

Experience analyzing best practices for gameplay systems based on a specific game

Experience working in a live game situation with constant updates and new content

Effective communicator experience

Well developed problem-solving skills

Working knowledge of some industry scripting tools

Description(岗位职责)

Work closely with the Project Lead and other departments to understand the overall vision for the game

Managing the design team and setting best practices for the department and project

Working hand-in-hand with the design team to discuss progress, remove roadblocks, provide feedback, and to set deadlines and deliverables

Design, implement, and balance diverse gameplay and social systems

Ability to discuss design concepts at a high level, in both formal and impromptu settings. Be able to describe at the low-level, in detail, the gameplay systems the player will engage with to ensure a compelling experience

Create and maintain design documents to share ideas, concepts, and design specifications in helpful, clear formats

Participate in prototyping and testing efforts to prove-out gameplay systems

Ability to sustain game systems in a live environment

Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and organize work to meet objectives

Show a passion for the systems design aspect of video game development
