Summary（岗位介绍）
The Concept Assembly Team works with the many product and Research & Development teams at Facebook Reality Labs to rapidly build, scale, and maintain prototype hardware. We provide faster and more informed learnings on prototype builds ranging from a dozen to several hundred, and we then maintain that prototype hardware for internal use. It is important that we provide experience from past builds across all product lines to inform future designs for existing and emerging products and technologies.
As a Mechanical Technician, you would act as a liaison between our team and the cross functional partners for whom we build, repair, and modify prototypes. In this role, you will both primarily look for impacting issues on projects we take on as well as suggesting or implementing creative solutions when problems arise during a build. You must be able to work independently, while also seeking guidance and feedback from peers and customers. Improving both workflow and communication efficiency should be the driving motivation behind all the work you take on.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
4+ years experience in a technical field involving assembly in a prototyping or line environment (Or BS/ME)
2+ years experience assembling or repairing consumer electronics
Effective communication skills and should be clear and concise by default
Analysis and design experience using CAD software
Familiarity with standard shop tools and equipment (Dremels, drills, hand saws, files, etc.)
Description（岗位职责）
Review mechanical component CAD or parts from our customers and provide DFM/DFA feedback during assembly to DRIs wherever needed
Guide customers towards functional and production scalable processes and materials. Act as a consultant between the DRI and the assembly method to be used
Work with the customer to determine design intent and act as a liaison between the customer and the manufacturing vendors
Communicate effectively with cross functional partners to explain design risks and suggest solutions or mitigation actions that balance cost, schedule, and project goals
Work closely with the Assembly Line Engineer to design and build assembly fixtures, packaging, and other minor prototype projects to improve team services/execution of proto builds
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Experience using NX CAD software package to improve or redesign parts
Thorough knowledge of GD&T
Experience with standard quality control and inspection plans
Experience designing fixtures and assembly aids for a production environment
Familiarity with manual and CNC machine operations
