Facebook Reality Labs Research (FRL Research) brings together a world-class R&D team of researchers, developers, and engineers with the shared goal of developing AR and VR across the spectrum. We are currently seeking a Research Intern to be an integral part of the Sensors and Systems team that focuses on inventing and leading the future of image sensor technologies. This role will focus on the technologies needed for on-sensor compute, to develop future generations of smart ultra-low power image sensors.
Our internships are twelve (12), to sixteen (16), or twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Qualifications（岗位要求）
Currently in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in VLSI Circuit Design, Computation Architecture, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer Vision, or a related field.
Experience in one or more of the following fields: Hardware architectures and novel emerging technologies (memories, 3d-integration), Machine Learning Accelerator Design, Sensor Design and Modeling, Machine Learning Algorithms, Neural Networks, Physics based models, or a related field.
Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Description（岗位职责）
Novel semiconductor technology modeling and benchmarking.
Simulation and characterization of ASIC platforms with novel technologies.
Multi-functional simulations including ML algorithms deployment on previous modeled hardware.
Collaboration with and support of other researchers across various disciplines.
Communication of research agenda, progress, and results.
Additional Requirements（额外要求）
Programming experience with C/C++, Python, MATLAB, Torch, etc. languages.
Experience in system modeling across data/image capture, signal processing pipeline, algorithms.
Experience in 3D computer vision algorithms including Calibration, SLAM, Reconstruction, Mapping, Localization, Tracking and Image Processing.
Experience with formulating and solving algorithm optimization problems.
Proven track record of achieving significant results, as demonstrated by co-authored publications at leading workshops or conference (e.g., IEEE VLSI Symposium, IEEE ISSCC, IEEE IEDM, JSSC, IEEE TCAS, ICCV, ISCA, TinyML, Micro…), patents or grants.
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
